Sentances!!!

Over the weekend (ok, so last weekend and I'm behind) Andrew actually used a full sentance, willingly (semi-willingly?).

He was trying to get a snack, and he was whining to us about what he wanted. When asked "what do you want" he actually came out with the entire sentance of "I want more cheetos please". As you can imagine, he got cheetos. He got cheetos all weekend, though he did have to use his entire sentance every time he wanted them. Poor guy must have felt tortured. :) It's really the only sentance we can get, he still will only use sets of words for most things "more juice" and the like, but even one full sentance is a miracle from Andrew. I'm so proud of him I could just burst!!

Dora the Explorer

I think that Andrew has a crush on Dora the Explorer. I just don't know any better way to explain it. He has two dora movies, a dora coloring book, a dora reading book, and a dora lawn chair. They've been acquired over time, though we did buy one movie and the reading book at the same time. He picked out the reading book, and we we got him the movie because it was inexpensive and he was staring at it in the store.

Since then he has watched one of the movies repeatedly (which is great because they are good movies) and he just likes to sit and smile at Dora when she's on the screen. He loves to look at her image on the back of his chair, he loves to stare at her picture and look at her books. But that's not the most amusing part of Andrew's interest in Dora.

When we were in Arizona we went to a mall to a play area (it's hot in Arizona, and this may be obvious to some of you, but it's new to me). In the play area he saw a little girl with Dora shoes. He followed her all over the play area as she moved, and kept looking at her feet. He looked very strange doing this, but the little girl didn't seem to mind and no one tried to stop him, so it was pretty uneventful. She did give him a funny look when she sat down and he knelt down to stare at her Dora shoes though. :)

He also appears to have "fights" with Dora, and when he's angry for whatever reason, he won't interact with any of his Dora toys. It's quite an amusing sight honestly. :) And hey, she really is a cute little girl. I can see why he would like her so much. :)

Disneyland!

Disneyland was absolutely a blast. We were only there a few hours, but it was a first trip for both Andrew and myself. We walked all over the park, which Andrew totally enjoyed. He had fun in his stroller, and running through toon town. He liked the trams that take you from the parking lot to the entrance to the park, and he enjoyed the train that runs through the park. It was a wonderful experience overall.

We didn't get to see Mickey Mouse (sad for me) because we tried at toon town and the walkway to get there is all enclosed and Andrew didn't enjoy that, but we did get to see Pluto! He was coming back to toon town for his break and we ended up in his path. He stopped to see Andrew, and I was very worried how he'd react, but he loved him! He touched his nose, and smiled up at him, and just in general enjoyed him. I will add the picture when I get home tonight and have access to my pictures.

Disneyland will definitely have to be a trip we take again. So much to explore, and way too little time. But a nice trip, nonetheless.

Eek, been a while (update)

I know it's been a month or so since I posted, but it's been a very busy month. We've gone to Arizona, to Disneyland, ended a school year, started up with a summer session of school, had relatives in, and just generally enjoyed ourselves. Busy, but good, times of summer. :) I'm going to post a few updates now, but that's the overview.
